I am a big fan of Sofitel Montreal, and a diamond member. I was Aware of the renovation being started in the lobby / restaurant so this was not the issue. However given the renovation just started, the entrance lobby area was literally like a construction side with contractors drilling / covering the scaffolding with plank of wood to cover it. I don’t believe this was safe as it is overhead work with people around - would have been best if the lobby was covered overnight so it is safe. Hope the renovation goes well - it was much needed. Good luck

We were aware ahead of time that the lobby and bar areas were going through a remodel, but that did not deter us from going ahead with the stay. Upon arrival we went to check in on the second floor and found the staff extremely hospitable and courteous. They went above and beyond to make sure that we would have a great experience in Montreal.

While the service was excellent, my bed didn't have any cover sheets (literally, on my bed, there was the sheet that goes on the mattress pad, and then the duvet, no cover sheet (I thought the Sofitel would double or triple-sheet beds. There wasn't one sheet). Also, I stayed at Sofitel Montreal for my mother's birthday. If I knew there was construction/improvements at the hotel, I would have stayed somewhere else (I didn't see any "Improvement" message on the website when I booked my room, nor have I received any notification email about construction interuptions before my stay. This is deception). No need to contact me. Good luck.
