Very nice hotel

Except for the construction going on in the lobby, the hotel is extremely clean and nice. The room was just gorgeous. The morning coffee and croissant station was excellent. The food we had for our business meetings was top quality.

Unbeatable location. Dog friendly. Great staff

rtomkinson Families - TripAdvisor review

I’m pleased to recommend this Sofitel, especially the helpful staff and great location. Especially after some mixed first impressions were made right. I am usually loyal to IHG or Bonvoy hotels. But for a recent family trip to Philadelphia during a busy weekend (with dog, and for a college track meet at Franklin Field) all those hotels were either booked solid, too expensive, or too far from the center of town. I found a great deal at Sofitel via HotelTonight, and it was just what I needed. Very dog friendly. Walking distance (ie. 1 mile) from Penn and Franklin Field, so I didn’t need to worry about traffic and parking, and a reliable brand. Arriving after midnight, my first impressions were mixed. The only parking option is valet, and I thought the price was high - altho further research showed it was not much than local public car parks, but with more trust and convenience. There was a mandatory $29 / night amenities fee, which is always annoying. And meanwhile the lobby had construction drapes up. The room is fine, although the art / decoration is a strange mishmash of styles (like it was thrown together from random pieces at a furniture / art store - but I must say the room was clean and everything worked). The free WiFi is slow (for zoom calls) and the paid WiFi seemed expensive. I registered some of these concerns on the welcome survey. And immediately got a reply from the manager, Janessa offering ways to address my concerns. Which impressed me. During the rest of our stay, I had no complaints. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Notably the porter, concierge, and the valets - even when their tiny front car park/valet area was mobbed with cars and customers. And best of all, Janessa listened and accommodated my request for a very late checkout, even when sold-out and with my discounted rate, so that we could stay to watch our daughter’s delayed track meet and when our dog sitter fell through. So thank you. You’re all a credit to the Sofitel brand.

PHILLIES IN PINSTRIPES

The Philadelphia Phillies hosted our family as they honored my grandfather and they booked Sofitel and the service and overall experience was great. I did extra a small inconvenience with the air conditioning but it resolved itself by the next morning but other than that small issue everything was fine.

Great stay!

Checkin and checkout was pleasant and everything about the stay was great! I was greeted warmly at the door when I first arrived. The location and the facilities were great as well. My showers had to be quick because the water started to pool up.

Excellent service, comfortable stay

I stayed at the Sofitel Philadelphia for a business conference for three nights in April 2024. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. My room was very clean and comfortable, and it was a fairly large room with a comfortable bed, a large bathroom and shower, plenty of power outlets, and fast wifi. The conference facilities were excellent. The only criticism I can make is that the "high top" table and stools in the room are not a comfortable workspace. They are stylish, but not a comfortable place to work in the evening. I would have preferred a standard-height table and chair for working or dining. This is just a small observation on an otherwise perfect stay.
