A’DAM Tower Lookout

The A'DAM Tower with its panoramic view is one of the most stunning new buildings of Amsterdam, and it definitely deserves a spot at the top of this list. The tower in Amsterdam Noord has an impressive 360° skydeck, and for the daredevils, they installed Europe’s highest swing: 'Over The Edge!' If you rather stay far away from this, that is ok, there is plenty more to see and to do! At the skydeck you have the most beautiful view on the canals of Amsterdam, all the historic buildings and the iconic landscapes. And if you want to know more about all the fascinating things you are looking at, head over to the interactive exhibition in the tower where they tell you all about it. After all the impressions, and the exhilarating adrenaline rush of swinging, there is the possibility to eat or drink at restaurant Moon. Of course, with stunning views.

Doubletree Hotel SkyLounge

The Doubletree Hotel SkyLounge is an award winning rooftop lounge bar. The stylish ambiance of the lounge bar combined with stunning panoramic views pretty much prove this. The SkyLounge is open to everyone and for all occasions – tourists, weddings, business meetings, dinners or just to enjoy one of their many cocktails. Try the strawberry margarita, it is delicious!

Nemo Panorama Terrace

Before you go straight towards the roof of museum Nemo, we recommend to spend some more time at this interactive museum – especially when traveling with your children. Nemo teaches you everything about technology and science. With approximately 17.000 objects and various exhibitions, the museum tries to bridge the gap between science and public. Then, move up to the sloping roof of Nemo where you have a unique view of Amsterdam. The museum does not end at the roof though, in addition to a large outdoor terrace and a restaurant, you will also find the impressive outdoor exhibition ‘Energetics.’

Westerkerk Tower

The Westerkerk is the highest church tower in Amsterdam and only open in the summer to climb upstairs. Plus, it is good to know that you are only allowed to go up there with a group of max 6 people. The Westerkerk is an iconic, historical church as it has been mentioned in the diary of Anne Frank and in many classic Dutch songs. Climb up and see the lively Jordaan district from above!

Edel Amsterdam

Edel Amsterdam is a restaurant/cafe in the west of Amsterdam. Edel does not have a high skybar and a view from above as previous tips. However, it is located at the edge of one of the famous canals of Amsterdam. The outdoor terrace offers an opportunity to see all the passing boats while you feast on a delicious dish. Edel has a chic, but casual look – perfect for a break after a long walk through Amsterdam.

Café de Jaren

Cafe de Jaren is a delicate cafe and it has one of the most special places on the edge of the canal. Walking in the foyer of the cafe, the first thing you notice is the spacious area with its very high ceilings. But once you move to the outside terrace, the cafe really comes to life. Located in the center of Amsterdam, between Muntplein and Waterlooplein, there is a sunny terrace with an expansive view over the Amstel river. Even more special is that Cafe de Jaren is to be reached by boat! The cafe has a private dock.

Amsterdam - EYE

EYE is a bar/restaurant located at one of Amsterdam's most beautiful spots to admire the Amsterdam skyline. This modern building in the north of Amsterdam is still quite young, designed in 2012 by the Austrian architects Delugan Meissl. It is part of EYE Film Museum and it offers a spectacular, cinematic view of the IJ. From here, you can see all the passing boats, big and small!

Twenty Third Bar

The Twenty Third Bar is one of the highest and probably most chic skybar of Amsterdam. Located in the south, the view of Amsterdam from the 23rd floor of the hotel is truly spectacular. You start with a glass of champagne or a cocktail here before heading next door for some oysters or other delights at the Michelin star restaurant Ciel Bleu.
