Summer in the City

Pop-Up Activities Around the UK

Fulham Beach Club, London
Pretend you’re on a foreign holiday rather than on a city break, by booking a slot at the Fulham Beach Club. You might be metres from the Thames, but you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away as you chill out on a deck chair on the golden sand. As well as the beach club, there’s a fantastic dip sum pop up restaurant, two bars, amazing DJs and special events.
You could enjoy a cocktail masterclass, have a go at sand sculpting or dance the night away at the Club Tropicana themed night. The Carnival Closing Party is a must if you’re in London for the August bank holiday.

The Magic Roundabout, London
To get to this quirky pop-up venue you’ll have to take a secret staircase in the Old Street tube station as The Magic Roundabout is located in the middle of a roundabout. It’s an incredible, unique space with amazing street food and a huge drinks menu including cocktails and craft beers. The DJs are some of London’s finest so if you’re into house, groove or disco, this is the place to go.
Highlights of the summer include the Hip Hop Hangover and the Midnight Riot party in August.

The Manchester Burger Festival, Manchester
If you’re thinking of making a trip to Manchester and are a huge fan of burgers, why not stay in the city in August? The first Manchester Burger Festival is due to take place and there will so many burgers you’ll be spoilt for choice. There will be a wide range of burgers available from classics like beef, pork, lamb and chicken to more unusual options like kangaroo, goat and wild boar. Vegetarian and vegan options will also be available.

Camp and Furnace, Liverpool
There are so many great pop-up events happening at the Camp and Furnace this summer. This venue might look like an old warehouse from the outside, but inside, it’s out-of-this-world amazing. It’s described as having “all the best bits from all the best festivals, indoors.”
Summer parties are epic. As well as there being incredible food and music, you can expect customised palm trees, a super soaker water fight, Laguna beach with real sand, beach Olympics, inflatables and much more.

Sound Familiar, Birmingham
If you’re staying in Birmingham for a night or two this August, why not head to Mama Roux's on a Thursday night? The Sound Familiar Music Quiz will be coming to the city for four Thursdays only and it’s expected to be a sell-out. It’s a party in the format of a music quiz and it’ll have everyone on their feet dancing. Organisers promise 8 parties in 1 as they only play the best bits of each track. Sound Familiar is a festival favourite and you’ll no doubt become a fan once you experience it for yourself.
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading our guide to five of the best city pop-ups this summer. Each is different but they’ll all help you make this summer unforgettable.
