The Kunsthaus Zürich has exhibited the work of painter Oskar Kokoschka many times before, but there hasn't been a retrospective in Switzerland since 1986. This irregularity is resolved with this exhibition, which brings together nearly 200 of the artists' works. It's a wonderful way to see the evolution of his work, including the techniques used, from oil painting to drawing, watercolour and engraving. As a figurative artist at a time when abstract reigned supreme, Kokoschka, an expressionist painter, has carved out an original and personal career for nearly 770 years. The exhibition, organised with Vienna's Leopold Museum, is the perfect opportunity to verify that his message is still relevant.
