All year long
For over 110 years the Wellington Cable Car has been rendering a valuable service to the New Zealand city with its route between Lambton Quay (the main shopping street) and Kelburn.
The Wellington Cable Car provides easy access to the botanical garden and the Kelburn Belvedere. The three intermediate stops provide access to residential properties and shopping centres. Visitors can also get to the University of Victoria campus.
Today, the Wellington Cable Car is the true symbol of the city. Nearby, in the original house, visitors can explore the Wellington Cable Car Museum, open to the public since 2000. It stores the different carriages in use over the years.
