Events and festivals

From Saturday, July 28 2018 to Sunday, November 4 2018

A woman and an artist, women and citizens.

During 2018, New Zealand is proudly celebrating the 125th anniversary of women's suffrage. The first country in the world to grant women the vote, the archipelago is now taking advantage of this historic commemoration to measure the progress made until 2015, when Saudi Arabia also recognised this right for its female citizens.
City Gallery Wellington has therefore invited Saudi photographer Arwa Alneami to display her work. A woman and an artist, she uses her work to question the place of femininity in her country through engaging photos and films. An exhibition that inspires visitors to fight for a cause.

From Saturday 28 July to Sunday 4 November 2018 :
