A little known artistic movement.

The exhibition presents more than 300 works from the Sammlung Verbund collection and highlights an important phenomenon of the 1970s: women's emancipation in the arts and how their image was redefined.

Gabriele Schor invented the term "Feminist avant-garde" to describe this movement. The works come from 48 artists from Europe and North and South America and include well known names such as Cindy Sherman, Ana Mendieta and ORLAN, as well as a large number of less well known works.
