She certainly received some beautiful people in her studio, our Madame D'Ora! Over the course of half a century, many of the greatest names in the aristocracy, arts, politics and fashion of the time all posed in front of her lens. Between her first portrait (Gustav Klimt, in 1908) and her last (Pablo Picasso, 1956), we see major names including Marc Chagall, Coco Chanel, Josephine Baker and even Maurice Chevalier.
A pioneer in her field, Madame D'Ora was the first woman to open her own photo studio, which quickly became a major name on the Viennese scene.
Today, the Leopold Museum has chosen to publicise her extraordinary career.
