With its collection of objects, furniture, fabrics and silverware, the MAK puts the spotlight firmly on design, spanning from the Middle Ages to today. From the curved wooden chairs of Thonet to the jewels of theArt Nouveau, a story of the craftsmanship and beauty appearing in everyday life is told in this museum of over 4000 m².
The permanent exhibition "Vienna 1900" will take you on a journey through the evolution of the decorative arts between 1890 and 1938 in three exhibition rooms. In the Asian section, you can admire a collection of Chinese porcelain and Japanese kimonos, among other jewels from the world of art and design.
