From Friday, June 22 2018 to Sunday, November 4 2018
The Leopold Museum showcases Klimt by presenting the evolution of his art to demonstrate how he was to become an essential figure of the Art Nouveau movement.
The works on display here are from a number of sources: the private collection of the artist's family, the Klimt Foundation and international loans.
The highlight of the exhibition is centred on a painting entitled The Bride, presented in a room on its own. The Bride is in fact emblematic of the artistic journey that the painter went through. This incomplete canvas (his last work) is displayed here with his priceless sketches.
