Golden mosaics.

The basilica was built on the site of a pagan temple and incorporated a Benedictine monastery in the 9th century. It is decorated with small pieces of mosaics on a gold-leaf background. This decoration lives up to its name: "Deaurata" means covered in gold. Enter this single-nave basilica flanked by chapels and admire an amazing Black Virgin that is much-loved by the people of Toulouse.
