All year long

Australian art scene.

With its prestigious collection, the Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art gives you the opportunity to explore the Australian art scene. The J W Power collection has over a thousand works including Pop Art, Minimalist and Kinetics paintings, drawings and oil paintings, donated to the institution.

Aboriginal australian art is also represented, with works from the famous Ramingining and Maningrida communities.

The Loti and Victor Smorgon collection, consisting of 154 works donated in 1995, offers a snapshot of Australian creativity during the 80s and 90s.

In March 2012 the museum opened a 4,500m² new wing designed by architect Sam Marshall.
