All year long
The Shanghai Museum opened to the public in 1996 on the famous People's Square. Although its shape, a round top on a square base, evokes an ancient philosophy, the building fits perfectly into the modern landscape of the Chinese megalopolis.
A total of 120,000 skilfully-made objects, bearing witness to tradition, guide you on the path to discovering Chinese art and techniques through the centuries. Here you will find everything from furniture to paintings, coins, calligraphy, seals, bronze and jade objects, ceramics, crafts and art of ethnic minorities.
