The São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand Art museum (better known by its acronym MASP), is one of the most famous cultural institutions in Brazil.
Since 1968 MASP has been located on the Avenue Pauliste, São Paulo, in a building designed by Lina Bo Bardi. It has the largest collection of western art in Latin America and in the Southern Hemisphere. Italian and French, African and Asian art, over 8000 works make up the rich collection of the museum, which also houses one of the most comprehensive art libraries in the country.
