The oldest cafe in Rome whose origins go back certainly to 1760 thanks to the writings of the painter Prud’hon who described the café Grecco as a place for encounters and meeting. In the Nineteenth Century, the best known painters, sculptors, composers and writers were habitually found at the Grecco. Today, the cafe remains magnificent with its velet tapistries and various armchairs but the clinets have changed; will you perhaps have the chance to spot a local star amongst the tourists?
