Since its first appearance in 2000, the Milano City Marathon has been one of the most important races on the international calendar.
Dominated by the Kenyans, who win the lion's share of the awards, both for men and women, the race has however been won by two Italians, who placed their country among the winners in 2000, 2008 and 2011.
The trial is considered as the fastest marathon in Italy. Crossing the Lombardy capital, it is enjoyed by spectators who come to admire the pack of runners as well as the surrounding area of Milan.
