From Tuesday, October 2 2018 to Sunday, January 27 2019
The first thematic temporary exhibition at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Paris since its opening in October 2017, "Yves Saint Laurent, Dreams of the Orient" brings together about fifty haute couture pieces inspired by India, China and Japan. These items from the museum's collection will be presented in parallel with Asian art objects lent by the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts and by private collectors.
Yves Saint Laurent offers a vision of Asia that is both literal and imaginary. Throughout his career, he has looked towards traditional Indian, Chinese and Japanese costume to bring his haute couture creations to life.
