From Sunday, October 14 2018 to Sunday, February 24 2019
There is something eminently modern, almost urban, in Latin American art. The geometry of forms, the choice of strong colors and the attachment to contrasts create a unique continuity from pre-Columbian frescoes to the street art that adorns the walls of Rio de Janeiro and Mexico City.
Through 250 works by more than 70 artists, the Cartier Foundation invites you on an artistic trip to Latin America. Explore the cultural treasures of the Aztecs and Mayas, discover the influence of European artists and the mixed identity that today defines the continent, encompassing its glorious past and a strong desire to move forward.
