A long, long time ago

The Incas weren't the only ones to thrive in Peru: other long-forgotten cultures also flourished at the foot of the Andes. These ancient societies included the Mochica (or Moche) who laid the foundation of pre-Hispanic civilization more than 1,500 years ago.
With the help of recent archaeological developments in the region, this exhibition offers an insight into the origin and power structure of these ancient societies. Was it the celestial gods, the kings, the urban elite and lords, the warriors or the priests and priestesses who held the power? How did it manifest itself?
Will nearly 300 exhibits on show, including unique ceramics, you will find yourself immersed in an archaeological investigation into the evolution of these political systems.
