Discover one of the most important 20th century Spanish painters.

The Miró retrospective at the Grand Palais features nearly 150 works of art, tracing the stylistic development of this artist who actively painted for more than 70 years. Joan Mirö, who was born in Barcelona in 1893, helped define the Surrealist movement, freeing himself from the conventions and rules of art, only to pick them up again later. In the meantime, he tried a number of different techniques including collage, engraving, ceramics and sculpture. His best-known work is very popular, thanks, in particular to some unusual projects including the 1982 World Cup poster!
