Since 1920, the Grand Prix d'Amérique has been a highlight in the world of harness racing. And on the day itself the ultimate trotting venue, Vincennes racetrack, becomes a bubbling cauldron of excitement.
Ceremonial grand parades, crowded stands and fever pitch among the media: broadcast in 70 countries across 3 continents, this is the key European trotting race of the winter, and the prize money is set at one million Euros.
The race takes place on the last Sunday of January, bringing the best trotters from around world together in Paris. A field of 18 horses will start, one of which will take the title at the end of an intense struggle over 2,700 meters. The winner will be showered in glory and will go down in history in the illustrious world of harness racing.
All professionals in the racing world have the Grand Prix d'Amérique in mind as an ambition. Preparing for this race is long and arduous, requiring intelligent training, a high-level team and - above all - an exceptional horse to win the race.
