Out of the shadows.

The Paris Museum of Modern Art has organised a special exhibition devoted to Andy Warhol, based around his monumental series, Shadows. Made in 1979, the Shadows are the result of a commission. Two abstract photographs of shadows are printed on a background painted with a sponge mop, with 17 different colours.

Presented for the first time outside the United States, this enormous installation that is over 700 square metres, - and 130 metres long - Andy Warhol's largest work is at the heart of the exhibition. This little-known masterpiece summarizes the issues that permeate all of the pop artist's work, including repetition and the occupation of space.
