An autumn classic.

Created in 1905, the Tour of Lombardy is one of the most popular classic races of the international cycling calendar. Dubbed the Autumn Leaves Classic, because it usually takes place in autumn, the race, which is part of the UCI World Tour, has been won by many great champions: Alfredo Binda, Gino Bartali, Fausto Coppi, Eddy Merckx, Laurent Jalabert (the last Frenchman to win the race) or, more recently, Michele Bartoli, Paolo Bettini and Philippe Gilbert.

Up to 2011, the Lombardy Tour ended the road cycling season. Since 2012, the race has been held two weeks earlier.
