Founded in 1854, the State Library of Victoria is the oldest library in Australia and one of the oldest free public libraries in the world. These days it's a hub of culture and research. Learn all about the cultural life, past and present, of the State of Victoria.
The library is famous for its huge domed reading room, which hosts numerous exhibitions throughout the year.
Free guided tours of the library are organised regularly, allowing visitors to discover some of the quirks and stories of this prestigious 19th century building.
