Melbourne
Sightseeing
Up in the sky.

The Big Wheel in Melbourne was first set up on the docks in 2008 and reopened in 2013, it remains the largest big wheel in the southern hemisphere. The wheel stands 120 metres tall, and has 21 pods. Its centre features a seven-pointed star, symbolising the Australian flag. A complete rotation takes 30 minutes, and during this time visitors can admire a fantastic 360 degree view from the top. You can see as far as 40 kilometres away in all directions. When the weather is clear, you can even see Mount Mont Macedon.
