All year long
Sacré Cœur Basilica in the city of Marseilles was built by the architect Dupoux in the Prado neighbourhood in the early 1920s. This building, built on the site of the old church of Saint Adrien and dedicated to the Sacred Heart, also served as a tribute to the memory of the 15,000 inhabitants of Marseilles who died during the war.
By the mid-30s, only the choir, the apse and the ambulatory has been completed. The church of the Sacred Heart was actually to be completed in the late 1940s. This church became a basilica in 1998.
