Events and festivals

From Friday, June 7 2019 to Tuesday, December 31 2019

Unique project for the Mediterranean of the future.

The Mucem is a veritable cultural city drawing upon all the humanities, mobilising artistic expressions on the Mediterranean's shores, and promoting a new way of regarding them. On the ground floor of the J4, a permanent exhibition presents the historical wealth and diversity of Mediterranean civilisations, while the temporary exhibitions floor (4 per year) is devoted to societies, cities, places, or people who serve the Mediterranean.

Fort Saint-Jean features a labyrinthine itinerary, shedding light on mysteries and presenting an overview of rich collections of folk art and objects from everyday life filtered through the festival's theme, in addition to photography exhibitions. A visit to the Mucem represents an opportunity to follow debates on contemporary issues of interest to Mediterranean cultures. The programme also features film seasons, concerts and shows. Not to mention other organised events like cookery classes and so on.
