Easels, some brushes, old wooden tools. The public are invited into Paul Cézanne's private domain at his Lauves studio in Aix-en-Provence. The half an hour visit to the world of master impressionist will immerse visitors in Cézanne's influences in the very same spot where he painted some of his masterpieces.
Enamoured of Aix-en-Provence, he acquired a small piece of land on the way to Lauves in 1901, to establish this studio. This is where for 4 years he worked every day from 6am to 10:30pm, producing some of his major works, including "Grandes Baigneuses".
At his death, the studio would remain closed for more than 15 years. Acquired in 1969 by the city of Aix-en-Provence, Atelier Paul Cézanne pays tribute to one of the greatest painters of the Impressionist movement.
