A real Oasis in the world of Britpop…

Sifters could easily be your typical record store, now few and far between around Manchester: vinyls, CDs and even some cassettes overflow on shelves and in bins, with autographed posters and a few hidden treasures, too. But the reason this small shop is so famous today is that it and its boss are both mentioned in a song by Liam Gallagher, singer and, some might say, leader (no offence, Noel) of the band Oasis.
According to the song, Mr. Sifter sold his music to Liam when he was just 16 years old, and it's a safe bet that they share vinyl tips to this day, since the record store and rock star still collaborate regularly (Sifters served as a backdrop for the presentation of the clothing collection launched by Liam). If you go and buy an Oasis record, might you bump into Liam Gallagher? I said maybe…
