All year long

All of Spain on a plaza.

This vast plaza is a popular venue among the citizens of Madrid. Starting point of the Gran Via, it also borders the Royal Palace and the Debord Temple. The centre of the plaza is the setting for a large fountain erected in honor of Miguel de Cervantes. Plaza de España also houses two buildings, emblematic of Madrid : Torre Madrid and theEdificio España. Torre Madrid, erected in 1957, was for a time the highest concrete tower in the World (142m) ! The Edificio España, built in 1953 according to the neo-baroque style, is 117m high, spanning 25 floors.
