Land of flavour.

The Côteau-du-Lyonnais ("Lyon hills") is the area in which the reputed wine of the same name (a vin d'appellation d'origine contrôlé) is made. With a climate that is not dissimilar to that of Beaujolais, although more Mediterranean, the Côteau-du-Lyonnais covers an area of 370 hectares, land which is covered by neat rows of vines as far as the eye can see. The wine is made in numerous different estates, many of which offer tastings and guided tours. This is a great way to learn more about the region. Beyond the region's wine production, this region near Lyon is known for its excellent, hearty cuisine.
