From Monday, September 30 2019
Since it was created in 1995, the Musée d'Art Contemporain in Lyon has followed an original policy of putting on temporary exhibitions, created in direct collaboration with the artists or from works in its collection.
Whether for Cai Guo-Qiang's rollercoaster, Ann Hamilton's "weeping wall", or Mathieu Briand's pool, the museum can transform itself into a different structure for each project thanks to its walls which can be taken down and re-assembled as required.
This means that the museum has to close for a period between exhibitions.
