From Tuesday, October 23 2018 to Sunday, December 1 2019
The exhibition presents the Kalasha people, a community living in the North-east of Pakistan whose religious beliefs about nature, expressed through festivals and rituals, are central to their existence.
Goat herders and cereal growers foster a genuine relationship with multiple gods and spirits, making them the last polytheistic society in the Himalayan Arc. The exhibition is structured around the seasons, from winter to summer solstice, in keeping with the Kalesha's cyclical concept of time. This exhibition presents everyday activities from wine production to funeral ceremonies, and the holy meaning they attribute to such acts.
