Millennium Bridge - Sightseeing London - GordonBellPhotography

Walking on the Thames…

The Millenium bridge was inaugurated, not surprisingly, in the year 2000; it is the first bridge to have been built in London in over a century (Tower Bridge, 1894). This pedestrial passage crosses the Thames smack in the middle of London, linking City to Bankside, or St Paul's cathedral to the Tate Modern Gallery. The strictly minimalistic design allows people on foot to enjoy a superb view of the capital without the constant parade honking cars and noxious fumes.
