Rowing on the Thames.

A very English traditional event in the sporting calendar, the Head of the River Race in London invites rowing crews from all over the world to take part in the race every year. The race takes place on the River Thames and the 4.25 mile long course, starts in Mortlake and finishes in Putney.

The longest rowing race inEngland, the Head of the River Race attracts more than 400 crews every year, all competing for first place, in front of a large crowd of spectators there to encourage them.
