All year long
In Lisbon, make sure you don't miss Santa Justa street. Discover its vertical lift designed in 1902 by the engineer Raoul Mesnier of Ponsard. At a height of 45 meters, it allows you to travel from the lower town district of Baixa Pombalina to the upper town district of Bairro Alto, in just a few seconds.
Take the time to admire its wrought iron design, reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower; unsurprising, given that Raoul Mesnier of Ponsard was a student of Gustave Eiffel. Once inside the two cabins, with a capacity of 24 passengers, you can ascend to the top. Once you get there, you'll find a perfectly-positioned café. Cup in hand, you will discover a beautiful view of the city and its monuments, including the castle of Saint George and the square of Don Pedro VI.
