All year long
Part of the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology, the Geological Museum of Lisbon was founded in 1859.
It brings together fossils, rocks, minerals and numerous archaeological objects that make up a collection of worldwide importance.
A veritable cradle of Portuguese geology and archaeology, the museum reflects a certain museum heritage that was inherited from the nineteenth century and that has been lost through time. Which makes some experts refer to it as a "museum of museums".
