2019 marks the centenary of the death of Júlio de Castilho (1840-1919), a journalist, writer and poet, and the founding father of olisipography (study of Lisbon culture). Júlio de Castilho, who wrote several historical reference books about the city, was instrumental in the emergence of a new field of study, leaving behind a legacy that still resonates today.
The exhibition devoted to him in the Pimenta Palace comprises rare archives retracing the unique career of this great figure of Portuguese historical records.
