For this show the Italian company Aterballetto has worked with the Swedish choreographer Johan Inger.
The resulting ballet is divided into three different acts: "Rain Dogs" set to the lyrics and vocals of Tom Waits, "Bliss" set to the famous Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett on the piano, and as an interlude between two different eras, the "Birdland" solo based on Patti Smith's eponymous song.
Johan Inger's influence can be seen in all three dances, namely a pure neo-classical style full of baroque richness combined with "Swedish refinement".
The music from the 70s and 80s is also very important here, imbuing this original choreographed jam session with the feel of a symphony layered with nostalgic fragrances.
