From Tuesday, May 14 2019 to Saturday, May 25 2019
The Cannes Film Festival is one of the key annual events for the film industry, attended by prestigious directors and actors as well as up-and-coming film professionals who have yet to make their mark. One of the most famous festivals in the world, Cannes was first held after the Second World War, in 1946.
Memorable moments from the Festival in years gone by include Roberto Benigni's exuberant display of joy after winning the Palme d'Or for Life is Beautiful in 1998, the crazy presidency of Quentin Tarantino in 2004 or the presentation of best actor award to Jean Dujardin by President Robert De Niro in 2011.
Each year, the city of Cannes rolls out the red carpet to welcome the great and good to its film festival. Once again the festival will sweep us up in a wave of emotions thanks to the work of the year's most brilliant directors.
