El Obrero restaurant, in the la Boca district (the neighbourhood most associated with tango), is extremely popular with the people of Buenos Aires. It's name meaning "workers" comes from the fact that it was once a meeting point for Italo-Argentine factory workers.
This typical bodegón (tavern) retains the mixed neighbourhood bar feel in its decor and menu. Try out the Basque style hock or the marinated aubergines, seated comfortably in a relaxed atmosphere.
