Buenos Aires
Restaurants & Bars
A favourite haunt of Federico García Lorca.

A favourite haunt of the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca during his sojourns in Buenos Aires, the bar Iberia is the second oldest café in Buenos Aires. It was established in 1887 under the name la Toja, and reopened in 1936 under its current name.

Close to the Avenida Theatre, the bar was frequented by actors and artists who gathered there after performances. During the Spanish Civil War, it became a meeting place for exiled Republicans.
