The famous Caminito in the district of La Boca is a 150 m pathway that follows the winding layout of an ancient stream that was later used as a railroad track until 1928. Now it is a famous pedestrian promenade in Buenos Aires, lined by brightly-painted walls of houses in this emblematic neighborhood known for tango; "Caminito" is also the name of a famous tango song composed by Juan de Dios Filiberto and Gabino Coria Peñaloza.
A living part of the city's heritage, El Caminito is a lively spot much appreciated by artists who exhibit and sell their works, often inspired by this place.
