All year long
In 2002, architect Eduardo Catalano gave his hometown a flower. This was not just any flower, however. It's the largest flower in the world, and it sits on Plaza Naciones. The stainless steel sculpture stands 23 metres high, with six petals each 20 metres high, reaching a diameter of 32 metres. The flower was designed to open and close. After a period of inactivity following mechanical problems, the flower has been restored to its full glory and continues to open in the morning and close in the evening.
