From Friday, March 23 2018 to Sunday, January 13 2019
In 1958, the Brussels Expo made a striking impact on minds and the landscape with the monumental Atomium. Less monumental, posters were a graphic representation of the zeitgeist: at the dawn of the sixties, advances in printing and the desire to kick out the old led to ground-breaking graphic exploits. The posters advertising the Expo are like film posters and their diversity demonstrates the rich inventiveness of the era. The different styles, ranging from photo montage to clean lines, from pastels to the brightest colours, laid the foundation for visual imagery which is still being developed and repeated to this day.
