The Quai des Chartrons in Bordeaux extends from the Cours du Médoc to the Museum of Contemporary Art, and borders the Chartrons district. Have benefited from the major redevelopment work carried out to the riverbanks, the Quai des Chartrons has a "promenade verte" a path planted with vegetation, perfect for a stroll along the river. This path is used by joggers, walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers of Bordeaux and beyond.
Complimented by the recent Bordeaux Quai des marques shopping centre the Quai des Chartrons has become a destination in itself, with outdoor cafes and fashionable shops which stay open on Sundays.
A breath of fresh air in the heart of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne, the Quai des Chartrons also hosts events such as the Bordeaux Wine Festival.
For many years the Quai des Chartrons was home to many visitors, big and small, were able to admire the Colbert, a military cruiser which was moored in Bordeaux for 14 years, before it waved goodbye to the city.
