This exhibition presents a collection of books dating from the interwar period, which highlight the artistic avant-garde of the Czech Republic on their covers.
From rondocubism to dadaist collage and photomontage, the covers of novels published in Prague are an impressive showcase of the history of art in the 20th century.
In addition to work by painters, illustrators and designers such as Josef Capek, Karel Teige and Adolf Hoffmeister, the exhibition highlights the importance of publishers in the development of new typographic styles and cover "layouts".
