Events and festivals

From Friday, February 1 2019 to Monday, May 6 2019

Half a century ago, the genius of the millennium was born.

In February 2019, the art world will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci. Marking the occasion, a dozen exhibitions will be held in twelve locations across Birmingham, highlighting the master's drawings. Twelve locations, with twelve works in each, for a total of 144 works exhibited free of charge to the public.
The selection made by the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery aims to illustrate the wide variety of work from an artist of insatiable curiosity: geology, cartography, anatomy, industrial design, and more. The drawings, taken from the Royal Collection, have never been exhibited before. A major event commemorating an exceptional man.
