History written with fists.

England, and the city of Birmingham in particular, enjoy a long sporting tradition. Sport is means of inclusion, a school of life for young people from working-class neighbourhoods since the beginning of the 20th century. This is how the Birmingham boxing clubs forged their reputation, to which the Museum & Art Gallery pays tribute today.
The exhibition, created by young boxers from Digbeth's Pat Benson Boxing Academy, looks back at seven decades of history in the ring. Testimonials and photos and objects from the past bring this English tradition back to life.
